This is the Drill Press Project, the first project that I completed as a machining student in the Industrial Maintenance program. Students were required to drill four holes in a rectangular piece of steel: a .375 reamed hole, a 3/8-16 UNC tapped hole, a drill and counterbore for socket head cap screw, and drill and countersink for flat head screw. In doing this exercise, I learned how to calculate rpm and tap drill size.
