Letters that I cut for the MLK 2015 project for San Diego Continuing Education

San Diego Continuing Education enters a parade float every year for Martin Luther Kind Day, and wins a first place award every time. This is the second parade float I worked on for them. These are letters I cut out of 10 gauge cold roll steal sheet. The were subsequently hammered on a wood form and welded together to construct a statue of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

These are some of the letters I cut for the MLK 2015 project at San Diego Continuing Education Metal Trades. A statue representing the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was sculpted by students for the parade float presented to the public on January 2015. Drawn, nested, and programmed using Torchmate CAD, and cut using a Torchmate 4x4 CNC plasma cutter, the statue was sculpted from the text of Dr. King's famous "I have a dream" speech. The material is 1/8 inch cold roll steal sheet.
