I cut two 8 foot signs for the MLK 2014 parade San Diego Continuing Education, part of the San Diego Community College District.
I was a student in the Metal Trades program, where I developed my proficiency in several welding processes, and also studied and learned independently to design and draw (using Torchmate CAD), program, and cut parts with a Torchmate 4x4 CNC Plasma Cutter. I have a passion for the artisan crafts and especially enjoy joining, cutting, shaping and forming metals. I also have a passion for machines, their operation, and their maintenance for optimization of their capabilities. I am pursuing an interest in design as well, and plan to study various CAD tools and develop my hand drawing skills as well.
The signs were mounted on each side of a float built by several welding/metal fab students, and was presented to the public at the annual parade commemorating and celebrating the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Dr. in January 2014. Each sign is two panels
