Welded automotive and related equipment (i.e., brakes, hydraulic systems, transmissions, radiators, lights, etc.). Drove vehicle to pick up and deliver personnel and materials. 2007-2009 | Welder / Layout Fitter
Fabricate new spools. Weld structural steel, vessel and platforms. Repair and maintenance of machinery in refinery. Weld metal parts or components together, using brazing, gas, or arc welding equipment. Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position. Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes and increase size of metal parts, using welding equipment. Clean or degrease parts, using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath. Inspect finished work piece for conformance to specifications. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scraper or power chipper, portable grinder, or arc-cutting equipment. Position work pieces and clamps together or assemble in jigs or fixtures. Preheat work piece, using hand torch or heating furnace. Ignite torch or start power supply and strike arc. Review layouts, blueprints, diagrams, or work orders in preparation for welding or cutting metal components. Repair Tanks, Vessels, Stainless Steel, Chromoly, Aluminum, Titanium. Calculates required sizes and angles of pipe assembly components including fittings. Lays out, fabricates, and assembles pipes and piping system components. Sets up and operate threading equipment and power saws. Read documentation, blueprints and drawings. Scheduling and coordinating work amongst other contractors to reduce inference with other project activities and traveling public. Weld pipe of different materials, make layouts of piping. Meet with engineers and project manager to give a weekly report of work done, and review of death lines. Supervise and coordinate others crews working on the project. Check and make material list, parts, fittings and consumables to be orders. Observes assigned equipment to detect machinery malfunctions. Expeditiously reports machine malfunctions and defects to superintendent. Track and document time sheets and safety reports. Sequencing work to obtain optimal production with minimal delays. Provide schedule updates to upper management and superintendent. Establish safe work environment that complies with OSHAstandards and company safety program. Responsible for crew safety, enforces company policy and complies with federal, state and company environmental policies.
