2007-2013 | Weld Eng./Manager/Mentor
• One of my many responsibilities was the training and mentoring of newly hired employees, and continued training of current employees in the field of Mig (GMAW) & Tig (GTAW) welding operations. This "In-House" training consists of classroom lecturing, printed handouts, hand’s-on training, and competency testing. The employees had to pass various weld tests to become qualified and/or certified based upon Towers expectations, or specified customer's requirements. Usually following the AWS D1.1 code book guidelines, and having a third party provide the certification testing & documentation. • Very competent in the MIG & TIG welding of High Hard Steels, Armored Steels, Stainless Steels, Titanium, Nickel-Iron Alloys (INVAR), and Aluminum alloys. • Sound understanding of Welding Metallurgy, NDT techniques, AWS Weld Code books. I was asked for my professional opinion and advice on many weld inspection situations. • I am usually relied upon to weld any customer supplied Weld Test Coupons for any needed Welding Certifications and customer acceptance criteria. First run parts, Prototype parts, and PPAP parts were usually fitted and welded by myself for customer acceptance requirements and Q.C. requirements. • I was responsible for generating PQR's, WPS's, and setting up all “in-house” weld coupon testing, to be conducted by a third party, outside vendor. • Working experience with Industrial Welding Robots and Programming. (FANUC) • Basic knowledge of GD&T, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Standards, CMM, and basic computer skills. Licensed Hi-Lo Operator also. • Good problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attendance/safety history, and always a Team Player.
